The COVID-19 pandemic and deteriorating economic situation globally has pushed many of those most vulnerable even deeper into extreme poverty. Besides the tragic toll on human life, with countries shutting their borders and doing quarantines, economies have taken a huge hit. The tragedy has taken a heavy toll on the Indian economy and the job losses are mounting, especially among the daily wage workers. Many laborers have lost their informal daily wages, and now face severe levels of food insecurity. MIWF is committed to feeding these poor families to the best of its ability. We are identifying poor families through our volunteer teams who are working on the ground.
Alhamdulillah with the support of our generous donors, our teams completed Phase-1 of the Ramadan Helpfeed project and distributed the Ration packets to 995 families so far in Kutch, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Mumbai and Hyderabad.

Note :-
- We are targeting slum areas where daily wage earners and poor people live and are working with local Masjid Imams and our volunteers to identify needy families.
- Once the families are identified we either tie-up with local grocery store to give the ration kit to the needy family or our volunteers will deliver the food packets at their doorstep
- The food packet we have planned will have rice, wheat/wheat flour, sugar, tea, pulses and oil which will be enough for a family of 5 to sustain for 30 days.
